Karl Marx just published a first volume of Capital
From his arrival in London in 1849, Marx had a little time to devote to capital ... a draft that had started a couple of years earlier.
For him the key to capitalism was exploitation as a source of profits and crisis.
Over time, there are conflicts between the overproduction and the inability of economies to absorb (the Say Act of classical economics why the entire supply generates its own demand was questioned ).
The exploitation economically equivalent to the Hegel's alienation.
day for thirty years visiting the British Museum Library write countless notes and sketches ... but almost everything is in the form of notes.
read the classical economists ... and returned essentially the approach of David Ricardo on built work: hours of work necessary to provide livelihood to the workforce, and allow replaced in the next generation, was what determined the value work (unskilled).
will Engels ( great friend and collaborator must ) who convinces him to submit their manuscripts, some of them, and publish well in 1867 a first volume of Capital , started twenty years earlier.
Subsequent volumes, devoted to crisis, remain in draft status ... the second in 1885 and third in 1894, after the death of Karl Marx in 1883 ... was Engels, his friend, who prepared them.
But Marx always kept two key ideas of Hegelianism:
- a The "reason" in history , a permanent transformation that folds into the dark and unforgiving laws of capital.
- The Dialectic , a confrontation and struggle between opposites (classes)
Although Marx rose from Hegel's idealism to become materialistic the back of his mind is always there.
was Georgi Plekhanov in Russia by Lenin who coined the term "dialectical historical materialism."
The Socialist Revolution posed as a global and final emancipation of man ( by abolishing private ownership of the means of production, which was the cause of the alienation of workers ), completing merely the legal and political emancipation by the bourgeois revolution (which he identified with the French model ), on that basis, pointed to a socialist future understood as realization of the ideas of liberty, equality and fraternity, as a result of a genuine democracy ... ... the "dictatorship of the proletariat" would have a purely instrumental and transitional
